The Day We Became Friends

Siblings are hardly ever best friends all the time. I have to admit that Kels and I HATED each other for a good chunk of time. Once we both started to morph into the teen drama, we finally had something in common, PMS and a "whateva, whateva, I'll do what I want" attitude. So begins our story of a lasting friendship...

Which I believe all started on a day like this one,
me and kpizzle on the bus to do what we love..HARVARD QUADRILLATERAL
taken on a public bus somewhere between Arlington Center and Harvard. I remember this day really vividly. Well I remember the ride more than the whole day but we were just goofballs. For the first time in a long time. And, if I am not mistaken, there was no actual reason to take a day trip other than today was the day Harvard Square will forever be referred to as "Harvard Quadrilateral". We were both sporting Chuck Taylor's, dropped in our money and headed to the back of the bus (of course) where we took up more than enough seats for two skinny girls. Feet on the seat, camera in hand, it was time to start making some memories.

I find this time in our lives slightly comical because our fashion was terrible. We looked like mini punks in children's thrift store shirts, sweatshirts, skinny jeans and chucks...there may even be a bandanna in my sisters pocket. Not that I have a problem with this style but it was 100% influenced by the music Kels listened to and I just wanted to be just like her.

Back to the bus, I remember this was the beginning of talking trash about our fellow bus-riders. It was entertaining to make up a name for the bag lady, the smelly man or the "damn i look good" girls with too much makeup and whisper it among ourselves. It may have been mean but it was just a twisted way of people watching I guess. I think we may have come home empty handed after this trip, we would have gone to Urban Outfitters, Starbucks, looked around at the street art and gotten something gross to eat.

Looking forward to the next trip to Harvard Quadrilateral!

Love you always,

Laughing, twirling, finger dancing...My Big Sister.

My sister and I have had countless "Oh shit" moments in our lives but the greatest ones were always when we were together. To name my favorites...

The day I punched my hand through the glass on the front door because she locked me out. Oh the look of horror on both our faces when we realized we had to fess up and call our mom. I don't remember how the whole thing ended but, looking back, it was so innocent.

My all time favorite is the time I tattooed Kelsey's feet. It was so sketchy, on her kitchen floor with a $25 tattoo machine, some ink, a sharpie and my lack f skills. Once I started we kinda realized it was just not working. But, they are there to this day and always will be and she doesn't hate me for it. What more could I ask for??

and more

The morning I took a pregnancy test. It was sort of hilarious, I had gone down for the weekend just to hang out and get over the breakup i'd recently been through. We ate gross food, drank gross booze, and dressed up like we fell right out of the late 80's only to find ourselves on the floor doing bicycles that we swore we'd do every night via phone. The next morning, on a whim, my sister told me I could use the test she had under the sink and to our surprise a big pink plus. I know she panicked as much as I did but we spent the whole next day in Harvard Quadrillateral playing it cool.

woot woot

I love you,
